LEUCATE - LA FRANQUI
Leucate is the city of Windsurfing in France 20Km from Perpignan. The weather is fine, the water is warm and there is a lot of wind either from Tramontane (land wind) or Marin (sea wind).
There are many windsurfing and kitesurfing spots on Leucate either on the pond or at sea. We therefore choose our spot according to its level, the force of the wind and its orientation.
The tramontana enters the North-West, so the further north we go, the stronger the tramontane will be. Conversely, the sailor returns from the South-East so the further south we go, the better.
Each year the seaside resort of Leucate-La Franqui, hosts an international benchmark kitesurfing and windsurfing event , which takes place over a period of one week.
La Franqui / Les Coussoules are mythical spots known throughout Europe, part of the town of Leucate. This fame stems on the one hand from the famous "Mondial du vent",
